About Us

Robyn with Logan Logan as a puppyIt all started in the summer of 2008 with an adorable puppy to be named Logan who needed a tag. My adorable puppy to be exact-see my blog for the whole story. Since we have been fostering dogs and know there are tremendous resources needed to rescue and adopt pets, we started Pet Tag Creations to support this cause. If you would like to start raising funds for your organization, give us a bark!

We are a group of folks who absolutely love dogs—and our other animal friends. Those who turn our dogs' names into every configuration imaginable, make up dog songs, and let our affectionate hounds join an already crowded bed. Owners who like the smell of our dogs after a walk in the park and cook our dog's food. We are the parents who bought another dog to keep the first one company, and talk endlessly in the park about how we parent and train our dogs.

What unites us all is the vision of dogs as our companions, children, intimates, and teachers. When we sit around and ask "Why are dogs so wonderful?", we come up with some of the following: they wag and wiggle when we walk in after a long, hard day; they call on our purest maternal and paternal inclinations; they return us to the natural world, and they teach us about loyalty, instinct, pleasure, and love.

Now, don't be fooled—we want to make a living too—but we also have a bigger mission: To create revenue for pet shelters and rescues from our proceeds, and to create a clearinghouse where dog resources, information, and lore—videos, pictures, and stories—are shared among a wider community of dog lovers.

The founder, Robyn Jacobs, designed and created 10 years worth of "Kidpins" (an educational fundraising pin which includes statistics of the welfare of children) from polymer clay for Advocates for Children and Youth. During that period of time, she owned Integrated Massage and then turned her passion for helping others to the nonprofit world, where she coordinated after school internship programs for youth and career assistance for ex-offenders and out of work adults. She has transferred these skills to developing Pet Tag Creations—creating beautiful tags for peoples' beloved pets, fundraising for animal welfare organizations and working with interns to train them in work and entrepreneurial skills. A devoted handful of other experts with backgrounds in website design, public relations, social media, construction, marketing and polymer clay collaborate with Robyn.
